We
feel that learning to sing, dance and act and create art with your peers
builds confidence and a positive self image that lasts a lifetime.
Education scholars have shown that music and art programs are critical if
we want to develop well adjusted children who become successful adults.
Do, Re, Mi, helps
to develop many important valuable life skills including coordination, motor
skills, cognitive reasoning, social skills, responsibility, team work, time
management, memorization, leadership, singing, basic music principles, a
sense of rhythm, public speaking, voice modulation, control, articulation
and projection, posture, personal presentation and many, many more.
Our approach is all
about the students taking responsibility their individual part while
becoming invested in the goal of delivering a quality performance.
They know it's all about them both individually and as a group as they
learn to support and help each other. We work to create a non-threatening
environment where the expectation is that everyone can and will do their
very best.
We recognize that
some do have more of a natural affinity for the arts than others. Our goal
is to help each child stretch to their next ability level while giving them
their moment "in the spotlight".
